Leadership Beyond National Board Certification

There are many exciting opportunities once you've achieved certification! Here are just a few of the ways you can continue to lead in the classroom and beyond.

• Catch a Star Teacher - The Catch a Star Teacher recruitment packet gives you the resources to share with other educators to show them how they can become candidates for National Board Certification. Be sure to check the website for information on gifts for hosting an informational meeting. 
• Candidate Support Provider Training - Have you taken the NBPTS Candidate Support Provider training? NBPTS is now offering training online for individuals, with the next course starting as well as the traditional face-to-face group training, so visit the CSP page to learn more. 
• NBPTS Network Affiliates - NBPTS Network Affiliates are coalitions of NBCTs who impact teaching and learning in their schools and districts by supporting quality teaching, promoting high standards of learning and advocating for National Board Certification. Each network has direct access to NBPTS information and resources and can also draw upon the strengths and experiences of other networks. Learn about existing Networks in Action or how to start your own.

• NBCTLink - The professional learning network for NBCTs. Log in to chat with your fellow NBCTs, join discussions and find network information.  On NBCTLink you can find and connect with other NBCTs in your area.  You can also start your own blog, where you can post your own commentary about school and education related issues in your area.   Check the site regularly to see the Featured NBCT or read about NBPTS Network Affiliates – you may see your own story there!  We are also featuring the new “Teaching Resources Center” where you can share lesson plans, workshop training plans, or research/white papers.  We want to share the amazing work of NBCTs!
