Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools study shows positive effects of National Board Certification

On February 23, Dr. Jon Fullerton, executive director of the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University, presented the results of a study of teachers of Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS). According to a news release issued by CMS, “positive effects were detected for teachers with National Board Certification.” However, there was “very little correlation between teacher effectiveness, as measured by student performance and advanced degrees.”
