“Arguably the most important growth and learning that you’re ever going to have as a teacher,” U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said during a recent interview he had with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards when asked what he would say to teachers thinking about pursuing National Board Certification.
“For teachers considering embarking on the National Board Certification journey, it’s a tough one,” said Duncan. “I just met with literally hundreds…to a person they said it was the best growth, the best development that they had throughout their professional career.”
“I encourage them to go for it.”
