Through the National Board Scholarship Program (NBSP), you may be eligible for scholarships from the generous organizations listed below. All scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have questions about scholarships, please e-mail us directly. Please do not send inquiries to our supporting organizations.
Before you apply for a scholarship, make sure you have submitted your candidate application and paid the initial $500 fee. Your scholarship application cannot be processed until this has occurred. Please wait 3 business days after applying for National Board Certification before submitting a scholarship application.

Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation The Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation provides scholarships to mathematics and science teachers in its operating locations in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Washington. First priority is given to these operating locations until December 1 of each year when science and math teachers in other areas across the Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation states, as well as teachers in the early childhood and middle childhood generalist fields, become eligible to receive for scholarships if funding remains for any given cycle. Teachers can apply immediately if they are seeking certification in Early Adolescence/Science, Adolescence and Young Adulthood/Science, Early Adolescence/Mathematics, and Adolescence and Young Adulthood/Mathematics. Governor Hunt Scholarship Fund The Governor Hunt Endowed Scholarship Fund provides a scholarship to a science teacher each year. Governor Hunt, the founding chair of the National Board, is a strong advocate and a steadfast supporter of National Board Certification and effective policies supporting the teaching profession. Eligible teachers must be first-time candidates pursuing certification in Early Adolescence/Science or Adolescence and Young Adulthood/Science. The scholarship will be awarded in spring 2010. |
| Friends of Philly Scholarship Fund |
Friends of Philly Scholarship Fund Friends of Philly provides scholarships up to $1250 to first-time candidates who are not eligible to receive funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Unlike other scholarships, the Friends of Philly scholarship has a repayment commitment that binds candidates who withdraw and those who achieve certification to repay the scholarship. Eligible candidates are employed under contract with the School District of Philadelphia and are engaged in the support program offered through Temple University. Friends of Florida Friends of Florida provides scholarships of up to $1,250 to first-time candidates who are not eligible to receive fee subsidy funds through the Florida state subsidy administrator. Eligible teachers must be first-time candidates teaching in Florida. Interested candidates should send an e-mail to the scholarship manager and submit a scholarship application. Candidates who have previously, or are currently in the process of obtaining federal monies to pay the assessment fee (such as from TIF, Title I or Title II monies which may be available through your school or school district) are eligible to apply for this scholarship. |

Friends of Alaska Friends of Alaska provides scholarships to first-time candidates who are not eligible to receive fee subsidy funds through the Alaska state subsidy administrator. Eligible teachers must be first-time candidates teaching in Alaska. Interested candidates should submit a scholarship application. |
| The Roy E. Barnes Scholarship Fund |
The Roy E. Barnes Scholarship Fund The Roy E. Barnes Scholarship Fund provides a scholarship to a teacher in Georgia. Governor Barnes, the chair of the NBPTS Board of Directors, has supported National Board Certification as a way to both encourage and reward great teaching. Eligible teachers must be first-time candidates teaching in Georgia. Currently, all funds have been allocated. |

The Rebecca A. Palacios Scholarship Fund The Rebecca A. Palacios Scholarship Fund provides a scholarship to a teacher in Texas. Dr. Palacios served as the vice chair of NBPTS Board of Directors, 2003-2009, and as a founding board member, 1987-1994, of the organization. She has the distinction of becoming the first director to pursue and achieve National Board Certification. Eligible teachers must be first-time candidates teaching in Texas. Currently, all funds have been allocated. |

If you apply for a scholarship, we will verify eligibility requirements and notify you by mail of your status. If you are eligible for a scholarship, you will receive a letter with your allocation clearly stated.
