NBPTS offers 25 certificates that cover a variety of subject areas and student developmental levels, and are applicable to more than 95 percent of America’s teachers.

Review a particular certificate's standards, portfolio instructions, assessment exercise descriptions and scoring guides. Select the subject area, and then the developmental area using the drop-down menus. As standards are updated, they are posted on the website for National Board Candidates as well as for use by others in professional development settings. Please review carefully the version of the standards you select, using the year of submission of your initial application for National Board Candidacy or, if applicable, Retake Candidacy or based on your interest in using the standards for professional development purposes.
