National Board Certification is a nationally accepted sign of quality in the teaching profession and offers a nationwide standard for evaluating and encouraging quality teaching. It is a way to recognize and reward the accomplished teachers we need to build competitive, world-class schools.

Getting involved via Advocacy Link means communicating the benefits of National Board Certification to members of the community and both Federal and state lawmakers.

National Board Certification and the 2009 Recovery Act

The U.S. Department of Education is releasing specific guidance on how the American Recovery and Investment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) funds can be used. The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) will provide updates as the Department of Education releases new information.
