Using Federal Funds to Support NBPTS Programs

National Board Certification, Take One! and other NBPTS programs are ideally positioned for federal funding support from:

  1. Ongoing Federal Funding—e.g., the U.S. Elementary and Secondary Act (Title I, Improving the Achievement of the Disadvantaged; Title II, Preparing, Training and Recruiting High Quality Teachers and Principals; and Title VII, Indian, Native Hawaiian, Alaska Native Education), the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and other federal programs.
  2. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)—e.g., “Race to the Top”

NBPTS has also provided guidelines to using National Board Certified Teachers in "Race to the Top" proposals. View the guidelines here, or download the pdf version here.
