  1. Why can't I access my candidate information at the National Board Registration & Information Center's My Profile site?
  2. You can log-in to My Profile one of several ways by going to http://www.nbpts.org/for_candidates/my_profile and selecting Access My Profile. The first screen you will see is a log-in screen for candidates, NBCTs, and Take One! participants.

    • Select the log-in link and you will next see a screen asking for your username and password. This is information you established when you first applied. If you do not remember your password;
    • Use the Reset your username and password link. The first screen you will see now offers you an opportunity to login-in using your 8-digit candidate ID number, last name, and birthdate. (Note: You will only be able to reset your password.) If you do not remember your ID number;
    • Use the link under Don't know your 8-digit Candidate ID? Click here. This offers you an opportunity to log-in using your Social Security Number, last name, and birthdate.
    • If you still experience difficulties, contact Customer Support at 1-800-22TEACH to speak with one of our representatives for assistance.

    All the information in your candidate profile must match the login information. When accessing your profile, be sure to enter the leading zero(s) before your candidate ID number. Your last name must appear exactly as it was entered on your application. If applicable, try using your hyphenated name (without the dash). Your date of birth must be entered with two digits for the month, two digits for the day, and four digits for the year.

  3. How can I print a receipt of payments submitted?
  4. You may make a copy of your payment history in your candidate profile by logging in to My Profile using the link at http://www.nbpts.org/for_candidates/my_profile and selecting Check My Candidacy Status, Fee Status View tab. The information you print is considered an official receipt of paid funds. If you need a copy of your $65 application processing charge, you will need to submit a written request for that specific payment which is not listed in My Profile. You may send this request via the Candidte Inquiry Service at http://cis.nbpts.org/nbpts/form.candidate.v2.php or by fax to 1-888-811-3514.

  5. How can I make a payment after my application is submitted?
  6. After your application is received, you can make future payments by clicking on the Submit Payment button on the Fee Status View in the Check My Candidacy Status section of My Profile. Credit card payments will appear in your record on the next business day after payment.

  7. If I ask NBPTS to make updates to my personal information, is there a charge?
  8. No. Please note that if you are logged-in to My Profile and note changes that need to be made, you can select Change My Profile & Considerations and enter most needed updates yourself. There is, however, a fee for making certificate and/or specialty changes. These changes must be submitted in writing with a check for $75 included with the request. The written request must include the candidate's name and 8-digit ID number and should be submitted to:

    NBPTS
    c/o Bank of America, Illinois
    PO Box 99406
    Chicago, IL 60693

  9. What information can I update in My Profile?
  10. Candidates can make updates to their address (including their e-mail address), their telephone number, the "release name" elective, and their social security number if they are inputting their number for the first time. All other changes should be faxed to 1-888-811-3514 or mailed to:

    NBPTS Processing Center
    11827 Tech Com, Suite 200
    San Antonio, TX  78233

    Include your name and your candidate ID number and clearly state the changes you wish to be made. Valid documentation must be submitted with all name change requests.

  11. I am already a National Board Certified Teacher and need to update my information. How can I do this?
  12. Log in to My Profile to review and update your personal information to ensure that your record is complete.

  13. I forgot my username and/or password. How can I log into My Profile?
  14. If you have forgotten your username and/or password, there are provisions for resetting one or both on the My Profile log-in page.  When you access My Profile to log-on, you will see an option to Reset your username and password.  Selecting this option, you will have an opportunity to use either your 8-digit candidate ID or Social Security number, your last name, and date of birth. You will be able to reset your password only by following the prompts.  If you encounter problems, please call 1-800-22TEACH (1-800-228-3224) for assistance.
