The National Board Resource Centers were established in 1998 and 1999 by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, with support from the Pew Foundation, Stuart Foundation, and Payne Family Foundation. Each center now obtains private and public funding independently.
Housed at higher education institutions in California, Florida and Illinois, the National Board Resource Centers provide candidate support, coursework, mentoring and other professional development. The goal is to strengthen teaching and learning in the classroom.
