Alaska Candidate Financial Support

Alaska is pleased to announce that funding is available to help offset the cost of the assessment fee. This funding is made possible through a Federal Subsidy grant from the United States Department of Education. Alaska teachers holding a valid Type A Regular Teaching Certificate and who achieve National Board Certification, may apply for an Advanced Type A Teaching Certificate endorsed in the area of National Board Certification.  The certificate is free of charge, is valid for the life of National Board Certification and may be renewed upon renewal of National Board Certification.
