  • The Delaware licensure system recognizes National Board Certification status with a special license category, “Advanced License,” which provides full reciprocity to National Board Certification holders from other states, and grants Delaware license renewal upon National Board Certification renewal.
  • The Delaware General Assembly maintained as part of the Professional Accountability legislation, a 12 percent salary incentive for NBCTs as part of the state’s portion of their salary per year. NBCTs who accept administrative positions as building-level administrators or district-level instructional supervisors continue to receive their salary supplement. In addition, the State Board of Education continues to grant licensure to teachers from out of state.
