Montana is pleased to announce that funding is available to help offset the cost of the assessment fee. This funding is made possible through a Federal Subsidy grant from the United States Department of Education. Funding Available - First-Time Candidates Federal Funding
The Montana Professional Teaching Foundation (MPTF) will utilize NBPTS Candidate Subsidy funds to support eligible Montana candidates at up to 50% of the certification fee. Candidates are responsible for submitting the unsubsidized portion of the fee. Candidates will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis and must meet NBPTS and MPTF eligibility guidelines. Teachers interested in using candidate subsidy funds to help with the fee MUST submit a copy of their NBC application or a copy of their online, e-mail, or official candidate confirmation to the program administrator. Such confirmation must contain the candidate's National Board Certification Candidate ID number.

Funding Available Retake Candidates
Limited scholarships for retake candidates are available. Contact Marco Ferro at the Montana Professional Teaching Foundation for additional information.
