Nebraska Candidate Financial Support

Nebraska is pleased to announce that funding is available to help offset the cost of the assessment fee. This funding is made possible through a Federal Subsidy grant from the United States Department of Education. Please read the information below for specific details, deadlines and contact information.

Funding Available

Funding Available - First-Time Candidates Federal Funding
The Nebraska Department of Education will utilize NBPTS Candidate Subsidy funds to support candidates at 50% of the certification fee. For each candidate, $1250 (1/2 of fee) of federal funds, and $1315 of the candidate's own funds or a combination of personal and district funds will be used to support the application fee. Candidates are responsible for submitting the unsubsidized portion of the fee with their applications. Candidates will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis and must meet NBPTS eligibility guidelines. To receive subsidy funding, candidates must contact Jay Sears at Jay.Sears@nsea.org before applying.  Deadline to apply: December 21, 2008.

Funding Available Retake Candidates
Nebraska does not offer funding for retake candidates.
