Wyoming Candidate Financial Support

Wyoming is pleased to announce that funding is available to help offset the cost of the assessment fee. This funding is made possible through a Federal Subsidy grant from the United States Department of Education, the Wyoming Legislature and private funding partners. For the current biennium, the Wyoming Department of Education budget includes program support in the amount of $656,000.  This support is provided through the Wyoming National Board Certification Initiative.

In the 2007 Legislative session, a bonus of $4000 per year for the life of the certificate was approved for National Board Certified teachers.
 

Foundation Support

The John P. Ellbogen Foundation and the Ruth R. Ellbogen Foundation continue to be leaders for the Wyoming National Board Certification Initiative. 

The focus of State and Foundation Support is as follows:

• Recruitment of teacher applicants for National Board Certification
• Strengthening the support system for teachers in the process of obtaining national board certification
• Assistance with assessment fees 
• Full scholarship for candidates and leadership workshops
• Technical assistance through local cohorts and one on one with trained candidate support providers      
• Plan and sponsor an annual celebration event for National Board Certified Teachers
• Public recognition of National Board Certified Teachers
