NBPTS has established policies for submitting application processing and the assessment fee payments. Please make sure that you and any third-party payers submit payments in accordance with the following guidelines.
Candidates must pay by electronic check or credit/debit card (MasterCard or Visa only).
Candidates may pay by:
- Credit card (MasterCard or Visa only)
- Electronic check
- Electronic Check Extended Payment Plan - Under this plan, candidates can pay the assessment fee by electronic check, and NBPTS will extend the final fee payment deadline from January 31, 2009, to March 15, 2009. Candidates who participate in this plan must agree to make all payments for which they are personally responsible by electronic check.
- Personal check, certified check or money order made payable to NBPTS
Third-party payers may pay by:
- Electronic funds transfer (if prearranged with NBPTS)
- Check or money order made payable to NBPTS
- Purchase order

Should you choose to withdraw, you may be eligible for a refund of the portion of the assessment fee. However, the processing charges, the initial fee and retake fees are nonrefundable. Requests for full refunds will not be honored, regardless of the circumstance.
